COVID-19 has come to disrupt many of the forecasts and dominant conventions until its arrival. In the most relevant aspects, it has only come to highlight some structural problems that our economies had for years. These previous problems are analyzed first and then the specific COVID damages (to which the war in Ukraine has been added). The third part underlines how all the previous data force us to rethink the future, reviewing a good part of the dominant models until the present. Finally, the need to recover a new social contract that provides a sustainable and fair solution to the problems raised is defended.
