COVID-19 has come to disrupt many of the forecasts and dominant conventions until its arrival. In the most relevant aspects, it has only come to highlight some structural problems that our economies had for years. These previous problems are analyzed first and then the specific COVID damages (to which the war in Ukraine has been added).

The pandemic that has devastated the world since March 2020 has generated a good number of lessons learned. Still pending to delve into many of them, numerous analyzes in this line are already coming to light.

The global pandemic of COVID-19 has generated profound effects that have led to the deterioration of livelihoods and food security in different countries of the region, including Colombia. A recent assessment carried out by the FAO through telephone surveys with statistical representation at the national level, demonstrates the impact on the quality of life and minimum conditions of subsistence of households given the multiple shocks presented by the pandemic and the social context (national strike) that the country faced during the months of June to August 2021.

The lockdowns and restrictions of the pandemic have accelerated the digital transformation in our societies. This transformation promises multiple benefits and many of them are materializing, and it also brings with it some risks that must be prevented. One of the areas where digitization has been enhanced is that of the public information space, both formal and informal.
